135 adds an experienced Performance Analyst to the player’s support team. We provide coaches with evidence and context they may not have time to produce themselves, while the coach leads the overall player relationship.
THE 135 FRAMEWORK
Understanding what really happens
135 provides profile information on server’s first three shots (135), the returner’s first three shots (246) and extended rallies (7+). This gives players and coaches more useful context than end-of-point data alone.

Return patterns may be attacking or neutralising. Players need both the ability to execute them and the awareness to know when and why.
Extended Rally
From shot 7 onwards, the early server or returner advantage has generally passed. Developing effective long-rally patterns remains important for every player.

Profile
Creates the initial profile of a player’s game by analyzing matches using the 135 Framework. This provides a clear starting point for understanding how a player performs across different rally lengths and match situations.

A deeper understanding
Performance Review
Every Foundation Profile and Competitive Pathway includes a 20 minute Player Session. A Performance Review is available when the player, parent or coach wants to explore the player’s game in greater depth.
The performance review provides up to 60 minutes with a senior 135 Analyst to discuss tactical patterns, development priorities, training implications and future planning. It can be booked as a standalone service or added to Competitive Pathway.

135 is simply the first three shots executed by a server in a given rally. Broadly, we measure player performance by the following metrics:
- 135 profile (serve patterns)
- 246 profile (return patterns)
- 7+ profile (long rally patterns)
It’s important to note that each player is different, so profiles vary.
The other important aspect is that we talk about “win rates”. For example, when we talk about “a win rate on 1”, we mean unreturnable 1st serves compared to double faults. If your win rate on 1 is 80%, it means you serve 2 double faults for every 8 unreturnable first serves.

135 started life as an app in 2017. Under the name “GT STATS” we further developed into so much more than an app.
We changed our name to “135 Tennis Analytics” in 2020 to reflect both tennis and our 135 Framework.
